History
A 30-year-old, 6-month pregnant woman arrives for routine examination of mother and fetus. Mother has history of drug addiction and cigarette use.
Physical Exam
Mother has normal blood pressure and heart rate. Mother's heart and lung sounds normal.Exam

Auscultation Tips
Significant independent predictors of the presence of a confirmed cardiac lesion:
- A loud murmur of intensity 3 or greater.
- Best heard at the pulmonic location (2LICS).
- Harsh sound.
- Pansystolic murmur.
- Systolic click.
- Abnormal second heart sound - fixed splitting during respiration.
