History
NG is a 7-month-old female who is brought into the emergency department by her parents because of dyspnea and frequent cough. Her parents indicate that she has a recent history of ‘a cold’ and a low grade fever. Her temperature is 101.2o F. SpO2 on room air is 90%. She has a frequent nonproductive cough, She is alert and crying when examined. She appears to be in respiratory distress with nasal flaring and intercostal retractions.
