This drill will teach you to distinguish heart sound rhythms. A heart sound cycle includes a first and second heart sound.
The interval between the first and second heart sound is called Systole. The interval between the second heart sound and the next first heart sound is called Diastole.
Normally Diastole is twice Systole. In this drill you will listen to heart sounds where Diastole is twice systole and to other heart sounds where Diastole and Systole are the same length. Listen as long as you want. When you are confident that you can easily distinguish the two rhythms move on to the test.
In the test we will play the two heart sound rhythms randomly and ask you to tell which is which.
